Curlfriends, gather round because we’ve got something exciting to share!
At Curlsmith, we’ve always been more than just haircare. We’re a community. A family of curlies, coilies, and wavies who share everything from wash day wins to styling tips and hair routine loses (we see you, humidity and unwanted frizz!). We started this journey together exchanging ideas, ingredients, and encouragement to help everyone embrace their natural hair in all its glorious texture.
Back in the day, just seven short years ago we turned those conversations into action. We created our very first Curlsmith products using a unique blend of science-led formulas and food-inspired ingredients. Avocado, rosemary, sunflower seed oil...we’re talking kitchen cabinet meets curl lab. And most importantly? We left out the stuff your curls don’t love because your hair deserves nothing but the best.
Fast forward to today, and wow...what a ride it’s been. We’ve grown (a lot), launched some game-changing products, and met so many of you along the way. Whether you’re a long-time Curlsmith fan or just starting your curl journey with us, we couldn’t be more grateful to have you in the community.
But here’s the thing, we realized that with so many amazing options in our lineup, picking the right products could feel a little overwhelming. And hey, we get it. When you’re trying to decode hold levels and moisture levels while your curls are air-drying into who-knows-what... it’s a lot.
So, we listened. We talked to YOU, our community, both seasoned Curl friends and curious newcomers to find out how we could make things simpler, clearer, and more intuitive. And that’s how our brand refresh was born.

We’ve reorganized our product family into three easy-to-navigate categories;

Plus, a Fragrance-free range for those with sensitivities.
Same incredible formulas, but now with a little extra clarity to guide your haircare routine. Let's take a closer look at what's included in our first category.
Wash Day Care Routine – The Foundation of Every Good Curl Day
Let’s start at the root (literally). Your Curlsmith care routine is where healthy curls begin. This category includes three steps:
Step 1 - Shampoos, Co-washes
Step 2 - Conditioner

To keep it simple, start by identifying your main hair concern and choose all care products within that recipe to match your needs.

Are the Formulas Changing?
We hear this one a lot. And the answer is: absolutely not!
The core formulas you know, and love is still the same. We’ve simply updated the packaging to better reflect the new structure and make it easier to shop.
That said, we did take this opportunity to go a step further for those who care about ingredients. We’ve removed EDTA from 11 of our formulas and replaced it with a more conscious preservative. It wasn’t required, but it felt right, and it hasn’t impacted the look, feel, or performance of the products one bit.
We’ve also made updates to our labels to align with new regulatory guidelines in the US and EU, which require the disclosure of potential allergens in fragrances. Rest assured this hasn’t changed the actual fragrance or the formula; we’re just making sure we keep things 100% transparent.
